Linear wipe - My example:
First I recorded to seperate clips of me waving to myself. I done this by keeping the camera in the same place each time, then moving myself into a different angle as if I am waving at myself across the room then waving back at the camera. Once I had enough suitable footage I imported it into "Premieur Pro CS6" so that I could start editing.
Next, I added both clips into the timeline with the second clip ontop of the first place so that I could get the timing right. I then searched for the "Linear wipe" tool in the tool box section and applied it to my clips. With this tool I was able to divide my clip in half and add the second clip within the same frame. So from this it seems that the same person appears twice within one shot and as if I am talking to myself.
One problem that occured was the location I filmed it in, because the doors appeared twice so it was clear that It was too different clips instead of one. To over come this I used the "crop" tool to edit half of one clip and then add the second clip ontop of the area i cut out to make them seem in sync and with the location looking as if it is one place at one time.
I also adjusted the transition completion and to 50% and adjusted the "feather" levels so it looks more like one clip.
