Split screen - My example:
To create a split screen I decided to film two clips of pouring a drink in a cup. For this I used the same cup and positioned the camera in the same place each time. Although, for one clip I recorded water pouring into the cup and then the second time I used red squash.
I done this so there would be a clear distinction for when I edited the clip to be a split screen. The point of the split screen is to show to things happening at the same time either at a different location or the same place, so i wanted to show two different drinks being poured into the cup at once.
After importing the clips I resized them to be the same size and in the same position within the frame. Then, I cropped the left side of one cup and the right size of the other clip so there was only one half of each cup. Next, I used the split screen tool and dragged it ontop of my clips which allowed me to place the two cups side by side, as if they are one cup.
