Location Shots and ideas:
I wanted to base my Music Video on a narrative as well as parts with the artist perfoming to the song, which meant I needed to use a range of locations to be relevant to what is going on within the narrative.
External Setting:
House Setting:
Wall Background:
For some of the scenes of my narrative I need external shots to resemble the artist's sense of freedom so I was looking at locations that have plain empty fields and very stripped back but still look a little aesthically pleasing.
Firstly, I found that an ideal external location would be the big field behind my house. Since it is easily accessible and the wide open space makes its ideal to film a similiar setting to what Im looking for.
Then I looked at other places open to the public that has wide open fields, but look more aesthically pleasing for my music video, so I thought I would consider using Danson Park.
Next, for parts of the narrative some scenes need to be filmed internally to show how the character's emotions and situation stems from the home so the setting needs to realistically be a home. For this I wanted to use my own house because it is quite modern and I have spaces with white walls that will be useful for lighting.
When the artist sings I wanted her to be placed infront of a background that is quite stripped back so the audience can focus more on the singing and lyrics. I thought of this in two ways, I could either find a room thats completely white or plain or find a wall suitable to film with.
Another idea I had for the wall or plain background was to use a green screen. I could also use a green screen for some of the other scenes in different locations in order to add other special effects, after in post production.
