Song choice development:

After a lot of research I wanted to do a music video for a song in the pop genre because it is the genre I am the most familiar with as I follow many pop artists and listen to their song frequently. Initially, I wanted to do a song that was both Pop with elements with R n B within it, but I decided it would be too difficult to achieve this successfully because it is hard to get appopriate setting and suitable locations that these genres combined most commonly use.

Some of the songs I first considered using from the R n B genre were:

I then done some more research and focused more on one genre and decided I would do a Pop song instead. I looked at Pop artists I most commonly listen to and done some research into the similiarities and differences between them and what made rhem interesting, in order to incorporate these elements into my own work. I decided I wanted to focus on a Music video that allows me to incorporate a narrative  as it is the most common convention of Pop music videos. Not only this I want to be able to focus on a narrative to intrigue the audience but also add instances of perfomance for the audience to connect to the artist on a more emotional level, as well as allowing them to focus more on the meaning of the lyrics.

My Pop Music video choices:

After much consideration, I came to the conclusion that the best song out of my video selections was Leona Lewis' "Thunder" as i felt it had the most potential to develop into a music video in which i could use both narrative and performance, as well as work with different styles and effects for a succesful outcome.
